Arsenal Transfers: 10 Young Talents Linked with Possible Summer Moves to Gunners
Arsenal transfer rumours will always see the club linked with young talents as long as Arsene Wenger is around.
Last year's summer window saw Arsenal buy four players over the age of 25. That was something completely unusual for the club.
The acquisitions of Alex Oxlade-Cmaberlain, Carl Jenkinson and, in the January window, Thomas Eisfeld are more generally more in line with Wenger's transfer policy.
Buying young isn't necessarily a bad thing and if Wenger is able to get one signing in particular, Arsenal fans would be delighted.
Here are 10 young talents linked with a summer move to Arsenal.
Matias Suarez
1 of 10Matias Suarez was a January transfer target for the club. It has also been reported that he signed a pre-contract agreement to join the club in the summer.
The player himself dismissed such reports but did not rule out a summer move.
Suarez is certainly a young player with a good amount of talent as his 17 goals and 15 assists in 32 matches this season have shown.
Eden Hazard
2 of 10Since his admission that he would be moving to England, there has been constant speculation about which club in England would grab his signature.
It seemed that Tottenham had already grabbed the coup of the summer when it was reported that Eden Hazard would join the club.
He has already ended that rumour.
Arsenal is still one of the clubs linked with the player, however, and it will be interesting to see how this transfer battle ends.
John Guidetti
3 of 10According to The Mirror, Arsenal is keeping an eye on Manchester City youngster, John Guidetti.
Guidetti is currently on loan at Feyeenord and has impressed while at the club with 15 goals in 13 games. The young striker could be tempted to move to a club known for its development of young players.
Carel Tiofack
4 of 10Carel Tiofack is another young attacker who has apparently caught Arsene Wenger's eye. It has been reported that Arsenal could try to capture the Ipswich player over the summer.
Tiofack would certainly not be joining the club and contributing right away. Ipswich might also be less willing to part with another young star only one year after Connor Wickham's departure to Sunderland.
Lewis Holtby
5 of 10Though it is completely speculation at this point, signing Lewis Holtby from Schalke may be a good idea for Arsenal.
Holtby has six goals and two assists in 25 games so far this season. With the likelihood of Mario Gotze moving to Arsenal seeming impossible, Holtby could prove a cheaper option for the club.
Jamaal Lascelles
6 of 10The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal may have to fend of Tottenham for the services of Jamaal Lascelles.
The young Nottingham Forest defender has attracted a lot of attention and could be on his way to London in the summer.
The same article also mentioned Arsenal's failed bid last year:
""Arsenal failed with a £2million bid plus £3m in add-ons for Lascelles a year ago and are still closely monitoring the youngster."
"
Matija Nastasic
7 of 10According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal is interested in Matija Nastasic.
Despite being only 18, Nastasic has featured in 13 games for Fiorentina this season.
Nastasic just joined Fiorentina last year, though, so Arsenal would have to fork over more cash than usual if they want to get this talent.
Rodrigo
8 of 10Arsenal has been linked with a move for Benfica starlet Rodrigo.
Rodrigo is a former Real Madrid youth product and he also has some experience in the Premier League having played for Bolton on loan last year.
Nick Powell
9 of 10The People reports that Arsenal could win the battle for Crewe Alexandra's Nick Powell.
The Gunners may have to do battle with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City but with Arsene Wenger's track record they are definitely at the front of the pack.
Junior Hoilett
10 of 10Arsenal will have to battle it out with Bayern Munich to capture Junior Hoilett's signature.
The Blackburn attacker has been the subject of much transfer speculation in recent months as his contract ends this summer.
Hoilett had an up-close and personal view of Arsenal's attacking prowess when they recently dismantled his side, 7-1. A Premier League stay, and a chance to work under a coach well known for nurturing talent, may convince him to sign.
