Randy Moss Comeback: Teams That Must Take a Chance on Moss

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

Randy Moss shocked the world on Monday when he announced he would be attempting a return to the NFL for the 2012-13 season.

The 35-year-old receiver, speaking to fans on his birthday, announced that he had to adjust some things in his life but just wants to come back and play football now.

Now, the question everyone wants answered is, Where?

Here’s a look at three potential teams that could be highly interested in the mercurial wideout.

Philadelphia Eagles

Signing a bunch of big-name free agents did not work out so well for Philly this past season, but it should not stop their pursuit of Moss.

He’s a tall, downfield threat that can go up and get the ball at the highest point. That is exactly the type of WR they need for Michael Vick to thrive.

This team needs to figure out what they are going to do about the wildly inconsistent DeSean Jackson, but regardless, Moss makes them a better squad with or without Jackson.

New England Patriots

New England got a historical year out of the future Hall of Fame receiver back in 2007 and knows exactly what they’ll be getting if they take Moss back.

He was one of Tom Brady’s favorite receivers at the time, which is why it makes sense for coach Bill Belichick to sign Moss to a deal, but with limited guaranteed money and an extremely short leash.

If thinks start go south, it would be no big deal to cut Moss, just as the team ditched Albert Haynesworth, Brandon Meriweather and other former superstars this past season.

Chicago Bears

You know a team needs receiving help when the starting running back, who notably missed the last four games, led the team in targets and receptions.

Matt Forte cannot be the top threat when Jay Cutler drops back to pass if this team wants to get serious about making the playoffs.

Moss is a legitimate receiver who can get deep down the field and catch bombs from the cannon-armed Cutler.

He’s a crisp route runner and simply one of the best to ever suit up at the position. The Bears should be on the phone with Moss’ agent as we speak if they knew what was good for them.
