WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: Bold Predictions for Chamber Winners

Donald WoodFeb 13, 2012

With the WWE Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View just under a week away, the excitement over one of the wildest events of the year is palpable.

The outcome of this PPV will set the tone for the final stretch run towards WrestleMania, so paying attention now is crucial for storyline purposes. Now is not the time to blink.

Some fans may complain about gimmick shows tainting the product, but anytime I can see an Elimination Chamber match, especially when the gold is on the line, I will not miss that chance.

Raw Elimination Chamber

CM Punk(c) vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho vs. The Miz vs. R-Truth vs. Kofi Kingston

As much as the loyal CM Punk fans will be up in arms about their champion losing his belt again, the truth is that the program is better when Punk is chasing the title.

If the plan is to let CM Punk win the WWE title back at WrestleMania, then having him drop it to Y2J at Elimination Chamber is a no-brainer. Whether they actually go through with this is a whole different story.

WWE knows that Jericho isn’t staying for very long and they know they can use his rub to get Punk over even further. Add a WrestleMania win over the WWE legend and Punk is a career star.

SmackDown Elimination Chamber

Daniel Bryan(c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Wade Barrett vs. Big Show vs. The Great Khali

Of the two Chamber matches, the SmackDown event was far harder to predict. With that said, I think Daniel Bryan has to retain the title.

With Sheamus obviously challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship and likely winning, Daniel Bryan is the only member of that chamber match who WWE would let lose that way.

It wouldn’t shock me to see Randy Orton walk out as the champion, but I don’t see where the storyline would go with RKO and Sheamus. At least with Bryan, Sheamus would be feuding with a heel.

Kane vs. John Cena in an Ambulance Match

This match is very simple for me. The WWE is trying to give John Cena an edge leading into his match with The Rock at WrestleMania, so letting him beat the hell out of Kane in an Ambulance Match is a nice way to do that.

With even the people that hate Cena cheering for this assault of a match, Cena will have more support going into his WrestleMania main event and a new attitude that will give him a serious shot to beat The Rock.

Cena has to win this match to look even stronger going against one of the most popular stars in WWE's history, but this storyline can’t end here. The driver of the ambulance needs to be Zack Ryder, which would start the feud between Kane and Ryder as well. That would be great for everyone involved.
