Jeremy Lin-Sanity, Hulk Hogan Is Not Gay: BR5 2/13/12
Welcome to BR5—your source for sports and pop culture news.
Today’s episode of BR5 gets you up to date on everything from the Dutch Oven to Hulkamania.
Call it Linphomania, Linsanity or a Lindarella Story...the Jeremy Lin miracle continues...Lin actually missed a shot...but it’s probably the rim’s fault. The formerly unknown Harvard grad keeps leading the Knicks to victory...like the last one against the T-Wolves. He continues to play well and spread the ball around. They haven’t lost a game he’s started yet. Does this mean the Knicks will go undefeated for the rest of the season? Probably not, but it’s fun to watch.
The forecast in Dallas: Texas is looking slightly cloudy with a chance of starting pitchers butchering the local weather segment. Rangers left-hander Derek Holland took a crack at being weatherman on WFFA-TV, and it was awesome, unless you were expecting the actual weather. After stumbling through the special effects and miscalculating rainfall by almost six feet, Holland reverted to doing Harry Carry imitations and blending himself into the green screen.
The Hulkster wants all the Hulkamaniacs out there to know he’s straight...Hulk Hogan is defending himself after his ex-wife’s allegations that he’s gay. The former WWF champ tells Wendy Williams if he were gay, he’d embrace it and celebrate and tell everyone. The Hulkster’s ex also attempts to out Brutus the Barber Beefcake in her new book. Someone needs to explain to the former Mrs. Hogan that it’s insensitive to assume someone who wears tights and cuts hair is gay.
LeBron James might kick your ass if you talk about his mother. James, who just made Forbes’ most disliked athletes list, lost his cool when a Wizards fan crossed the line and heckled him with a a yo momma joke. James reportedly told the guy, "The only reason you talk (crap) is because you know I can't come off the court right now and beat your ass."
James reportedly added, "If I had a free pass I would kick your ass right now." Lucky for the fan—who probably is NOT 6'8" and 250—the NBA was not handing out free passes.
Terrell Owens is not a bad guy...just ask Terrell Owens. In an interview with Ben & Skin on KESN-FM 103.3 in Dallas, T.O. says that he’s never been disruptive, he wasn't a bad teammate and it was all, quote, “hearsay.” Like when he questioned quarterback Jeff Garcia’s sexuality...people heard him say that. Or when he trashed Donovan McNabb’s conditioning after a Super Bowl loss...people heard him say that too.
He went on to say his lousy reputation is all the media’s fault. So the Sharpie incident, posing on the Dallas star and spitting in D’Angelo Hall’s face...were all works of fiction by the press...apparently. T.O. also says he’s not a villain, but he is just stuck in the villain box that he can’t get out of.
