Terrell Owens: Former NFL Star Still Clueless About Absence of Offers
Earth to Terrell Owens: your current "exile" from the NFL is not the result of some league-wide front office conspiracy. You're not unwanted because the media is out to get you, a notion about which you've been so adamant.
"""I think the thing ... I didn't get picked up was that a lot of general managers bought into the fact that the media thinks that I'm this bad guy, this rebel guy, this disruptive guy that divides and messes up team's chemistry.
"
Heck, you of all people should know exactly why you're no longer wanted in the NFL. You said it yourself:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"I'm not going to give up hope just because I'm 38 and just had a knee injury.
"
Guess which part of that sentence GMs aren't too keen on.
Got it? Good.
Sure, there are plenty of teams out there (the Cleveland Browns, the St. Louis Rams, the New England Patriots, the Denver Broncos, etc.) who could use help at wide receiver.
The problem, of course, is that none of those teams, or any of the others that could use a helping hand, is or would've been particularly interested in wasting an all-too-valuable spot on its 53-man roster on a guy in his late 30s who just had his ACL repaired, regardless of the name on the back of the jersey.
To be sure, T.O.'s past shenanigans didn't and still don't help his case for employment. Not surprisingly, Owens continues to deny, rather vehemently, that he was or has ever been a nuisance in any respect:
"If you ask a bunch of my teammates, a lot of it is basically blown out of proportion, the media making me into a fall guy. Overall, will I ever admit that I was a bad teammate? Never. I wasn't a bad teammate. Was I disruptive. No I wasn't disruptive. I feel like I have a lot of football left and I'm looking forward to getting back to playing.
"
Teams around the league would certainly be more than willing to take a chance on T.O. if his physical ability still far outweighed his considerable baggage. The Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys, the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals certainly had no trouble overlooking Owens' travails for his talent, even if they may have regretted the ultimate outcome.
But, again, now that T.O.'s health is in question and his age is as advanced as it is, any character concerns would only be the icing on a rather sour cake that the Allen Wranglers are all too happy to scarf down.
