Jerry Sandusky's Wife Speeds Toward Unsuspecting News Reporter

Kevin McGuireJun 4, 2018

You would think that at this point anything revealed about Jerry Sandusky would fail to surprise you. Then something like this happens.

Dottie Sandusky, Jerry's wife, who has publicly come to her husband's defense despite numerous allegations that he sexually abused minors, was caught on video allegedly speeding up toward a news reporter, who was filming a news clip at the edge of the Sanduskys' driveway.

The reporter, Courtney Brennan of WPXI TV, Pittsburgh's NBC affiliate, saw what was happening and was fortunate to have time to react.

Dottie Sandusky drove right through where the report was being filmed and up to the garage door, opening the garage door from the car and moving her car inside to avoid the reporter. Joe Amendola, Sandusky's lawyer, was not far behind and took some time to answer some questions for Brennan.

Brennanย said in an interview with Pittsburgh's WKST-FM 96.1ย that Sandusky's wife "revved her engine at us before she came flying up the hill into her driveway."

This incident occurred on Thursday, in advance of Sandusky's first day in court to discuss the status of his court proceedings. A tentative court date of May 14 was set by a Centre County judge.

The judge has not yet ruled on several requests by the defense, including one asking that Sandusky's grandchildren be allowed to visit him. Prosecutors argue that Sandusky's home is not safe for any children, even those related to him.

"As the mother of six children, I have been devastated by these accusations," Dottie Sandusky said in a public statement released in December. "I am also angry about these false accusations that such a terrible incident ever occurred in my home. No child who ever visited our home was ever forced to stay in our basement and fed there.ย  All the kids who visited us ate with us and our kids and other guests when they were at our home.

"I continue to believe in Jerryโ€™s innocence and all the good things he has done. Jerryโ€™s many success stories with his Second Mile kids and positive memories of those kids keep me going. I am asking everyone to please be reasonable and open-minded until both sides of this case are heard, and Jerry has the opportunity to prove his innocence."

There is no word of Brennan or her WPXI photographer seeking legal action against Dottie Sandusky at this time.

Consider this just the latest in a bizarre saga that has been in constant development.
