Manchester United vs Liverpool: Red Devils Prove They Are EPL Team to Beat

Manchester United has sent a message and reclaimed the lead in the EPL. They wrestled away first place from Manchester City with a 2-1 win over Liverpool. 

City has been slipping ever so slightly lately.

They are just 1-1-1 in their last three matches, and the Red Devils have gone 2-0-1 to seize first place. 

This all sets up for what should be a dynamic finish to the campaign, but defending champs Man U showed that if they are going to be dethroned that it is going to have to be taken from them. 

They are on top of their game and flexed their muscle against Liverpool. 

Liverpool Match

The bulk of the news of this match revolves around Luis Suarez refusing to shake Patrice Evra's hand prior to the match, and the ensuing scenes revolving around the friction and lost in the shuffle, is the fact that Man U secured three crucial points on the strength of Wayne Rooney's double. 

They had the lead built to 2-0 before Liverpool got a consolation goal to crack the scoreboard. They dominated the flow and tempo of this game, and were in control from start to finish. 

What's Ahead

The Red Devils have 13 EPL matches left.

Seven of those will be played at home. They only have two matches remaining against teams currently in the top five of the EPL table.

They have one game left against City and one against third place Tottenham. 

This is a favorable remaining schedule, and they are currently on top of their game. 

City is going to have to get hot once again to push Manchester United. If they do that, the EPL could come down to the their head-to-head match on April 28th, which will be both clubs third to last match of the campaign.
