Thierry Henry's memorable Arsenal career wasn't going to end without another typical thrilling Henry finish late in an important match.

With the match winding down, Henry took advantage of a sensational cross into the box by Andrey Arshavin for the winner to beat Sunderland 2-1 in stoppage time.

Arshavin has been a major disappointment for Arsenal this summer, but this cross was perfect. The Russian forward delivered a beautiful ball to Henry through two Sunderland defenders, and the Frenchman took care of the rest.

Henry's 229th goal wasn't his best, and it wasn't an exquisite finish, but it was another fantastic moment football fans will remember for a long time.

With Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle all losing on Saturday, the Gunners gained three crucial points in their pursuit of a top four finish.

Henry will return to the New York Red Bulls later this month when he joins the club for their pre-season training for MLS competition, but he still had some magic to work before he left English football again.

Henry will leave the club on February 16 when his two-month loan spell is up, and his last game will be the day before that against AC Milan in the Gunners' first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 fixture at the Giuseppe Meazza in Italy.

Saturday's triumph moment for Henry was the perfect way for him to leave the Premier League, because when you need a goal, you need Thierry Henry.
