WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: 5 Additional Matches Wrestling Fans Sorely Need

David LevinFeb 12, 2012

There needs to be more.

And there will be.

But for now, let me say I am not thrilled with the way the Elimination Chamber lineup is taking shape; too many open holes and square pegs trying to fill them.

While we are all set with the Chamber's main events, there needs to be better under card matches and buildup. I am tired of the same old routine, but the WWE must believe they are working wonders.

Note to creative: Nothing has changed, and nothing ever mattered. There needs to be emphasis on the Divas, the tag teams and, of course, the champions. One out of three does not cut it these days.

These are some matches we need to see happen for the Elimination Chamber PPV to be a success.

Kharma vs. Beth Phoenix

1 of 5

I agree with fellow colleague Sharon Glencross: This kind of match can change the Divas division.

While it would appear that Phoenix is making the Divas look like child's play, there has to be someone who can step up and challenge the Glamazon.

Maybe Kharma can finally make the blond bomber shut up.

Kharma was killing it before she took time off to tend to her personal issues. When she entered the Royal Rumble, it created a great height of excitement.

Can Kharma stand up to the equally adept opponent? Does someone like Natalya help her buddy or turn her back on the challenge? Do the Bella Twins jump into this kind of angle?

Oh, the possibilities.

Jack Swagger vs. Someone

2 of 5

He is the United States Champion, and he is "not" in the Elimination Chamber.

Am I missing something?

Each singles title is involved in the Chamber match, and Swagger is sitting on the sideline—only in the WWE.

Swagger needs a challenge from someone to make him more of a legitimate threat. Zack Ryder is on the shelf, and there are no other wrestlers I can see who could step up and give him a match other than maybe a Mason Ryan or possibly someone like Brodus Clay. Even then, Swagger would have to sell that one hard.

Swagger, although I am not a fan, should be given some more respect than he gets.

Cody Rhodes vs. Justin Gabriel

3 of 5

If the WWE is trying to give Gabriel a chance to shine, now is the time to do it.

There are plenty of top-tier wrestlers who are battling each other, and Gabriel, who has plenty of talent, is stuck in no man's land.

Gabriel proved he could give Rhodes a battle, and the intercontinental champion sold for him.

Can that happen again?

Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler vs. Primo and Epico

4 of 5

Please put the tag team belts on these guys.

Please let a true tag team division develop.

While I do not agree with having Ziggler wrestle twice in the PPV, these two guys are perfect to hold the titles, and they could find more opposition from a team like Drew McIntyre and Ted DiBiase or a Gabriel and Heath Slater.

The tag team division comes alive if these two earn the straps.

Natalya vs. Tamina

5 of 5

To see two Divas matches in a PPV is unheard of, but this one needs to happen.

Natalya is so not being used properly. Tamina should be challenging for the Diva's title and, again, the flatulence angle does not work for me.

These two could have an epic feud, having the pedigree of fathers who were huge in the WWF during the 1980s.

I hope the creative teams can make this happen.
