WWE Raw: The Miz Will Have a Great Year...on Smackdown

Justin WatryJun 4, 2018

Mark it down.

I am not big on "fantasy booking." The word "bold" means less and less with each passing in terms of predictions. In this case, I like where WWE is headed.

We all have been following Mike "The Miz" Mizanin for the past year or so. Everybody knows his last couple of months have not been very memorable. They were fine, but it was nothing amazing.

In my eyes, this is all being done with a purpose.

It is not to "buried" him. It is not because Maryse left the company. It is not because of some report about Survivor Series' buy rate. Trust me, very little of those stories have much credibility.

Remember folks! You can't believe everything you read online.

I don't put much stock into any of the above mentions. Very little.

What I do believe, however, is The Miz is heading to the Blue Brand. It may be in April. It may be in the summer. It may even be by the winter. It doesn't matter.

The Miz will move over to Smackdown in 2012.

I understand the brand split doesn't mean much anymore, but it does still mean something. The entire concept has not been totally thrown out the window.

The Miz has done all he can on the Red Brand. He had a great run as a heel in 2010. His WWE title run in the beginning of 2011 was excellent.

His feud with John Cena was long but acceptable. His partnership with R-Truth was fun. He even did all he could to try and get Alex Riley over. That is one busy year for a heel.

Either way, him moving down the card is not related to any story you may want to believe online. It is being done to make room for his Smackdown run in the next few months.

Not only that, but he will do so as the next top face!

As I wrote about over two months ago, The Miz is going to have a great 2012, but he will do so as a face on the Blue Brand. You can't deny the media attention he gets. You can't deny his mic skills. You can't deny his wrestling talent.

He will weather this storm. By no means is he "buried" or any other term fans will surely incorrectly throw around. Miz will be just fine.

Look no further than Sheamus last year at this time. Losing to Santino Marella? Wearing a ridiculous outfit as "king"? Losing to Daniel Bryan? Bumped off the main Wrestle Mania card?

Yeah. I rest my case...

Reminder: I am now on Twitter @JustinWatry! Feel free to follow...thanks.
