2012 NFL Draft Projections: Robert Griffin III Will Cause Draft Day Firestorm

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

Andrew Luck may be the more renowned player, but Robert Griffin III will guarantee that the 2012 NFL Draft is a wild one.

We are still a couple months from the first-round selections to take place on April 26th. We still have the combine and a myriad of pro days to sift through.

The way it sits right now, Robert Griffin III will prove to be as volatile on the draft board as he is on the field. That should make this draft a memorable one for the millions that will watch it all go down.

1. Indianapolis Colts: There is no secret that this team will be taking Andrew Luck. We move on right after yawning.

2. St. Louis Rams: Intrigue begins immediately with the Rams. St. Louis is all set on young promising arms, but they could be looking to deal this pick that remains delectable to a few teams.

I like the Rams to take Matt Kalil from USC and guarantee Bradford some protection, but they can still trade down and answer one of their other issues, namely at wide receiver with Justin Blackmon.

3. Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings could go a number of places, and may actually be a perfect trading partner for the Redskins if the Rams pass on any trade.

4. Cleveland Browns: The Browns' decision rests on what they think of Colt McCoy on draft day. He proved he can be accurate, but questions on arm strength remain.

The Browns may go with running back Trent Richardson, which would answer the vacancy left by so many ineffective games by Peyton Hillis.

However, their flirtation with drafting RG3 is exactly what will spawn a great deal of trade rumors as the Redskins are sure to covet the Baylor standout.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: I see the Buccaneers getting some sort of help for a soft secondary. Morris Claiborne would fit in well there.

6. Washington Redskins: You can almost smell the desperation. Washington would love a star quarterback that could lead the team and invigorate the fans. Griffin has the talent and charisma to do both. Look for them to get creative on draft day.

You also have to consider that the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks are at least flirting with the idea of trading up for the league's second favorite quarterback.

Andrew Luck may be the best quarterback, but RG3 is certainly the most talked about in NFL front offices right now.
