Tim Tebow: ESPN's Infatuation with QB Crosses Line with Face-to-Face Interview

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

ESPN's love affair with Tim Tebow will not be deterred by little details like the season ending, or a team that had nothing to do with Tebow just winning an epic Super Bowl.

The self-proclaimed "Worldwide Leader in Sports" is quickly becoming the "Worldwide Leader in Tebow."

They are currently hyping up a face-to-face interview that will air on Tuesday night's SportsCenter with the Broncos quarterback just two days after the Super Bowl.

To give you a taste of this interview, and the hype that ESPN and its broadcast partner ABC are giving this interview, here is a clip from this intimate affair as it was shown on ABC News.

Here is another clip of Tebow talking about expectations and his favorite moments.

The interview is certainly all Tebow. He deflects credit, praises others, shares his love for his family and God, and deflects criticism.

It is all a very refreshing attitude, and it is part of the reason why he has become such a big star.

However, this is nothing new.

This is the same Tebow we were flooded with all season.

This tweeter drives the point home nicely with a bit of comedy.

There is absolutely zero reason we need to have this interview forced down our throats now.

I think this fan sums up this foolishness well.

There are countless interviews with those that were actually involved with the Super Bowl that would have been infinitely more captivating.

While there is a big population that can't seem to get enough of Tebow, there is an ever-growing mass that are getting sick of him. It is just getting comical in the eyes of some, like this astute tweeter

This interview is just a waste of time at a moment when there are fare more interesting interview subjects out there.

Move on, ESPN.

We are ready to hear about other things.
