NBA All-Star Game: Hip-Hop Star Nicki Minaj Slated to Perform

Eric BallFeb 7, 2012

The sporting world has been invaded by a robot looking woman with hair that turns blue and pink—better known as Nicki Minaj.

MTV has announced that the hip hop singer will be performing either before or at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game Feb. 26.

This is going to wrap up an incredibly busy stretch that watches her go from performing at halftime of the Super Bowl with Madonna, to unleashing her newest song at the Grammys this Sunday, only to end up in Orlando for the All-Star Game.

Minaj is already quite familiar with NBA players. Anybody remember the infamous Chris Paul lap dance on his birthday? She also performed one with Steve Nash as well.

Considering both of them are likely to make the team, maybe there will be an encore performance (Just kidding Mr. Stern!).

Regardless of how you feel about her music, Minaj is clearly one of the most popular artists around in 2012 and has been able to transcend over to the sports world rather seamlessly.

Some consider here the female version of Lil Wayne because of her slick rhymes and delivery, while others believe she is more out of the Lady Gaga mold because of her incredibly bizarre outfits and hair styles.

Whatever it is, sports fans can’t get enough of her and invading two of the biggest showcases for musical performances in sports within a month have got to be some sort of record.

With Minaj as one of the featured acts, you can expect a wacky performance that will make you go “Huh?” more than a few times.

Be on high alert, FCC.
