Giants vs Patriots: Why Gisele Should Rip Tom Brady Instead of WRs

Brian MaziqueJun 7, 2018

Somebody tell Gisele that her man's first quarter safety and ill-advised throw to Rob Gronkowski were the biggest reasons for the Patriots loss in Super Bowl XLVI.

Brady's first-quarter safety on the Patriots' first play from scrimmage was huge and the deep throw to a less-than-100-percent Gronk was just as big.

Gisele was captured on video giving a profane criticism of Patriots receivers after the loss.

According to BlackSportsOnline, Gisele broke the wife code with her comment, seen here.

She must have been in the restroom when Brady uncharacteristically launched a pass over the middle to no one, while under duress in his end zone.

Hey Gisele, that's intentional grounding and a poor play by Brady. No one else to blame on that one.

It was the first play from scrimmage for the Patriots. It gave the Giants a 2-0 lead and great field position that they quickly turned into a 9-0 lead.

That play was a precursor to what would continue through most of the first half, until the Pats were able to miraculously grab the 10-9 lead at halftime.

Imagine if Brady had not thrown that pass.

The worst-case scenario for the Patriots would have been a punt from deep in their end zone. The Giants would have had good field position, most likely, but the Patriots defense would have been in a better spot.

If they give up a TD, it's only 7-0, not 9-0.

Remember, the final score was 21-17. It could be noted that without that gaffe by Brady, the score could have been 19-17 on that last drive. That would have meant the Patriots only needed a field goal, which changes the drive completely.

It would have been a field goal to win, not tie. That is a huge difference.

Early in the fourth quarter, with the Pats up 17-15, on first down, Brady took an unnecessary risk throwing the ball deep to Gronkowski. The ball was intercepted by linebacker Chase Blackburn—truly an unlikely defensive hero, but still, the pass was not necessary.

The Pats were leading and it was first down; Brady didn't have to try to win the game on that play. Plus, Gronk had a weak wheel. When you throw a pass like that, you're creating a jump-ball situation.

In Gronk's condition, that was not a good decision.

With the ball near midfield, Brady could have gotten rid of the ball or even taken the sack. The Giants didn't score on the next possession, but Brady gave away his team's chance to put points on the board. That would have likely won the game for his team.

The bottom line here is, while the drops from Aaron Hernandez, Deion Branch and even Wes Welker were harmful, Brady's poor decisions created the adverse situation for his team.

But I guess Gisele didn't see those plays.
