Liverpool Transfer Rumours: 15 Players the Reds Might Pursue This Summer

0 of 15

The January window isn't long gone, but the Liverpool transfer rumours continue. The summer may see Liverpool finish any business that they couldn't during January and renew interest in players linked with the club.

The Reds have seen a bit of a resurgence of late and could see themselves continue to climb up the table if the good form continues.

The summer window draws closer each week, and that gives Kenny Dalglish and his staff more time to assess their possible moves, even as they do their best to maintain positive results in the present.

Here are 15 players Liverpool might pursue this summer.

Alvaro Dominguez

1 of 15

According to, Liverpool has been linked with two Atletico Madrid defenders, and one of them is Alvaro Dominguez.

Dominguez has the ability to play at left-back and centre-back.

His versatility could be a very good thing for the Reds, as they need cover for Jose Enrique down the left.

Glen Johnson has shown he can do a good job there, but the Liverpool staff would surely prefer to keep him on the right.

Lucas Barrios

Lucas Barrios has been linked with a move to Liverpool before.

Barrios would come in and provide some much-needed depth to Liverpool's front line.

The Reds have a creative forward in Luis Suarez and a target-man in Andy Carroll.

The Paraguayan forward would provide the team with a poacher who could play off either.

Marko Marin

Marko Marin is another possible recruit from Germany.

The German winger was linked with a move last summer, and it has happened again recently in the same Daily Mail report concerning Lucas Barrios.

Marin would fill a need for an out-an-out winger at the club, with the likes of Dirk Kuyt and Jordan Henderson having had to spend time out wide.

Edinson Cavani

While Lucas Barrios would be a solid if not decent option for the club, Edinson Cavani would be a high-profile signing.

According to, Liverpool was interested in bringing in the Uruguayan forward during the January transfer window.

Cavani works well alongside Luis Suarez in the national setup, and Liverpool's No. 7 may try to convince his bosses to make a bid in the summer.

Ricky Van Wolfswinkel

According to KopTalk, Liverpool talks on a move for Ricky van Wolfswinkel have been put on hold.

Liverpool was apparently close to signing the player before an injury halted progress.

If all that is true, the Reds will be back in for the player once he returns from injury and returns to form.

Eden Hazard

6 of 15

Liverpool has been one of the clubs linked to Belgian starlet Eden Hazard.

Hazard's admission that he was looking to move to England in the summer raised speculation about his destination.

The top clubs in the Premier League are all viable suitors, though it is likely that being in a Champions League position could be the tiebreaker.

Esteban Granero

7 of 15

An injury in the Real Madrid squad may have scuppered Esteban Granero's possible move to Real Betis, and that has given other suitors a chance in the summer.

Granero was a rumoured target for Liverpool throughout the January window, but nothing came to pass.

Jermaine Defoe

8 of 15

The transfer speculation about a Liverpool move for Jermaine Defoe grew strongly throughout the January window.

The English striker was linked with a deadline-day move.

Defoe may come up on Liverpool's radar again in the summer, and that could be influenced by the club's ability to keep Emmanuel Adebayor on a full-time basis.

Diego Godin

9 of 15

Diego Godin is the other Atletico Madrid defender who has been linked with an Anfield move in the past.

Godin has featured regularly in Spain for both Atletico Madrid and his former club Villarreal.

Like other Uruguayan nationals, his stock has risen since the 2010 World Cup, and Godin could provide the Reds with a very deep and solid central defensive line were he to join.

Loic Remy

10 of 15

Loic Remy is another possible forward option for Liverpool.

According to KopTalk, there were reports that Liverpool was extremely interested in the player throughout January.

Remy is also a reported target for Tottenham, and the two could face a race to sign his signature in the summer if they follow up on their interest.

Jorge Fucile

11 of 15

Porto's Jorge Fucile is currently on loan at Santos, but that could change in the summer.

Last December, the Daily Mail had reported that Liverpool was interested in a move for the full-back in the January window.

Fucile would fill a need for Liverpool, as he has the ability to play in either the right or left-back positions.

Pablo Hernandez

12 of 15

According to, Liverpool may have been interested in Valencia's Pablo Hernandez in January.

Hernandez is another winger who has popped up on the Liverpool interest list, but it remains to be seen whether he or Marko Marin would be preferred.

David Texeira

13 of 15

The Metro reported that Liverpool was in talks with David Texeira about a January move.

If Liverpool really were that close to the player, then the summer could see them make another move.

Judging from this clip, Texeira looks like a talented young striker who could do well linking up with the likes of Luis Suarez.

Mauricio Isla

14 of 15

Mauricio Isla has been linked with a summer transfer to Liverpool.

The Udinese player could be the next Chilean star to make a move to a big club.

Isla is a player with energy and stamina and provides a versatility that would be very useful for Liverpool.

He has the ability to play on the flanks both in defensive as well as attacking positions, and if really necessary, he can play in the middle.

Wilfried Zaha

15 of 15

WIlfried Zaha has attracted a lot of attention in recent times, and Liverpool apparently enquired about the player's services.

The summer would provide a good time to complete such negotiations, and if possible, the youngster could even go back to his old club for a year.

Zaha is a hot commodity, and Liverpool would do well to win the race for his signature.
