NFL Draft 2012: Players That Will Massively Improve Stock at Combine

Richard LangfordJun 5, 2018

The following players are going to have very lucrative NFL scouting combines. They will wow scouts with their physical tools, and they will be drafted higher than anyone expected at the end of the season.

Every year there are players that star at the combine and their stock soars. Last year, the biggest star was receiver Julio Jones. He blew scouts away with his combination of size and speed, and that led to the Atlanta Falcons trading up for a chance to add him to their roster.

Here are three who will steal this year's spotlight.

Washington RB Chris Polk

Polk has had an amazingly productive college career, but he is still flying a bit under the radar.

This is due to the fact that he does not jump off the screen when watching Husky games. He doesn't have ankle-breaking jukes or blinding speed.

However, he does have a nice combination of size and speed. At 5'11" and 222 pounds, Polk has the body to withstand the punishment in the NFL. He is a hard runner with strong legs, and this is going to show up.

He also has solid hands that are not reflected in his stats, but will show up at the combine. After a solid combine, Polk will be the third RB taken in the draft behind Trent Richardson and Lamar Miller.

Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill

Tannehill is widely regarded as a late first to early second-round draft pick like this projection by Cory J. Bonini on KFFL.com. After he gets done at the combine, there is no way he lasts past the mid part of the first round.

This QB has measurables that are going to pop off the charts. He has ideal height at 6'4". He also has very good athleticism and will impress scouts with his mobility.

This guy can also make all the NFL throws. He has an above-average NFL arm. Combine that with athleticism, and teams are going to be very intrigued.

Arizona State QB Brock Osweiler

Osweiler isn't getting much hype at the moment, but that will change at the combine. He has drool-inducing height at 6'8".

He also has tremendous footwork and decent mobility to go with that height. This will shine at the combine, and that right there is enough to make scouts take notice.

What will really seal the deal for Osweiler though is the fact that he has an elite arm. There won't be a QB at the combine that will be putting the zip on the ball that Osweiler is capable of.

This will guarantee that this QB does not make it past the first round.
