Greg Jones Proposes to MSU Girlfriend After Giants Super Bowl 2012 Win

New York Giants rookie Greg Jones followed the Giants' big moment on Sunday with another big moment.

Jones, a sixth-round pick last year, dropped to his knees amid the celebration after the Giants beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday and proposed to girlfriend Amanda Piechowski, to which she happily accepted.

Said Jones, via the Star-Ledger:

"

“She was bawling. I was like, ‘I don’t know how long she’s going to keep crying.’”

Jones has been with Piechowski, who he calls "Mandy" for three years. He met her at his alma mater  Michigan State. Now a model, she used to play for the MSU women's basketball team.

For Jones, the move was a no-brainer:

“She definitely knows how I feel. A speech wasn’t even needed. Just everything we’ve been through together. She’s been here since Day One and she knew me long before everything else.”

It's nice to see a professional athlete propose to his longtime girlfriend. We've all seen athletes throughout the years go for someone grandiose, their bloated ego getting in the way of what really matters.

Sure, it's probably not too difficult to propose to a model, but you can tell there's something real there, and it's nice to see that.

And what better way to propose?

There are very few human beings on this planet who win a Super Bowl. It's a once-in-a-lifetime moment for players and something that will always stay with them.

For such an emotional moment, it was only proper to follow it up with a marriage proposal.

May they live long and prosper together, and I'm pretty sure Jones wouldn't mind another Super Bowl, too.
