Super Bowl Commercials 2012: Fiat Proves Sex Definitely Still Sells
Fiat aired a racy commercial last night to promote their new 500 Abarth. They enlisted Romanian supermodel Catrinel Menghia to play the part of the “car” in the 60-second spot.
This seductive advertisement shows an average guy walking down the street and stopping, stunned when he sees the model bent over between two cars next to the sidewalk.
She sharply addresses him and slaps him, but then pulls him in close, and just as it looks like they are about to kiss, the man wakes from his daydream and realizes he is looking at a Fiat.

While I certainly would not equate a Fiat to a beautiful woman, the Italian automaker is trying to convey a relationship between buying a car and getting hot chicks.
Even the foreign language in the spot is quite dirty.
What Menghia says to the stunned man is roughly translated as “What are you looking at!? Are you undressing me with your eyes? Poor guy, you cannot help it? Is your heart beating, is your head spinning,” finishing up with “Do you feel lost thinking I could be yours forever?”
While the car certainly isn’t as sexy as the babe and what she is saying, it proves that attraction works and this was one of the more highly rated commercials of the night.
Other companies, such as Kia and Teleflora, also used sexual attraction to grab attention. Those two brands enlisted the help of Adriana Lima and definitely caught the attention of most viewers.
While the messages may be lost as eyes are transfixed on what they are seeing and the ears tune out what they are hearing, having a hot babe will certainly get people to notice your commercial.
