NBA Trade Rumors: Should the Orlando Magic Look to Swap Nelson For Nash?
The Orlando Magic are a team that have been dealing with a lot of things this season. Dealing with the whole Dwight Howard testing free agency situation the Magic are at a point where they need to find a way to get over the “hump”, and maybe there is a player that can help them do that.
Due to the recent injuries and struggles of point guard Jameer Nelson, the Magic need to find a guard that can shoot the ball with consistency and spread the floor. One player that falls under this category would be point guard Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns. Imagine Nash working the pick-and-roll with Howard, Hedo Turkoglu and even Ryan Anderson.
Nash has had an amazing basketball career as he has won back-to-back Most Valuable Player awards, brought more fans to watch Suns basketball games and is overall a great professional and character guy that wants to win and has a lot left in the tank.
The Suns are reportedly willing to move Nash (he has an expiring contract) if he so desired to a contender, but it seems that Nash is loyal to Phoenix and may not decide until the last minute if at all. However there could be plenty of phone calls coming to the Suns regarding Nash’s availability, as the Suns look to rebuild their team.
If the Magic acquire Nash, maybe the Magic can find a way to convince Howard to continue his NBA career in Orlando. The Magic have some assets to offer to Phoenix and may need a third team to enter the mix to sweeten the offer.
This is a situation that could gain more attention as the trade deadline approaches.
