UFC 143 Results: Did Judges Overlook Nick Diaz's Constant Pressure?

Although Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre wanted to fight for the UFC welterweight title, Carlos Condit spoiled the party at UFC 143. 

Diaz tried to push the pace of the fight and pressed forward through out, but Condit out-struck him and stuck to his game plan of staying out of danger. 

Following the loss, Diaz was disappointed feeling he got screwed by the judges. 

Although no one can argue that Diaz pressured Condit for most of the fight, he was unable to get off enough effective strikes and took more damage from Condit. 

Although Diaz did his usual taunting throughout the fight, you could tell he was frustrated that he could not get the best of Condit. 

UFC president Dana White agreed with the judges' call. At the post-fight press conference, White said he thought Condit won the last three rounds. 

Despite that, there are still many people who believed Diaz should have been awarded for pushing the pace of the fight. 

When Quinton "Rampage" Jackson faced Lyoto Machida, he was in a similar situation as Diaz. He pushed the pace of the fight despite Machida landing more strikes.

The difference between that fight and this one though is the judges saw the fight in Jackson's favor. 

Diaz may have a point, but he was out-struck and frustrated by Condit. If anything, Condit showed just how one-dimensional Diaz can be at times. 

While some believe that Diaz should have been rewarded for Octagon control, it's not hard to understand why Condit won the fight.
