2012 NFL Free Agents: Wes Welker and Top Wide Receivers Available
The NFL is undeniably a quarterback's league, but every signal-caller is only as good as the guys he's throwing to.
With that in mind, a few teams will be looking to add some elite wide receivers during the 2012 free-agency period.
This year's wide receiver pool is exceptionally deep, with no less than 20 quality wideouts hitting the open market. Today, we'll highlight the best of the best that will be available.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Wes Welker, New England Patriots
The elusive Welker was the NFL's best wide receiver in the regular season, ranking first in catches (122), second in yards (1,569) and tied for sixth in touchdowns (nine).
He was the top receiving target on an offense that averaged a ridiculous 317.8 passing yards per game.
Welker will turn 31 before next season, but he still has a few years of elite football left in him. Welker has said that he plans to back in New England, and I'd be surprised if he turned his back on Tom Brady and the Patriots.
However, stranger things have happened in the NFL.
Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers
Vincent Jackson only caught 60 passes this season, but he was still selected to the Pro Bowl thanks to finishing 16th in the league in receiving yards (1,106) and tied for sixth in touchdowns (nine).
Jackson has been unhappy during much of his time and San Diego, and it wasn't long ago that the Chargers were considering shipping him out of town.
Don't be shocked if Jackson signs elsewhere this offseason.
DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles
The explosive Jackson had a down year in Philly, as he saw a slip in his production and was deactivated in Week 10 after missing a team meeting.
Despite his struggles, Jackson managed to catch 58 passes for 961 yards and four touchdowns. He is still incredibly talented, and if he ever matures, he could be the best receiver in the NFL.
At a press conference last week, Andy Reid wasn't exactly emphatic about bringing Jackson back. I'm expecting the 25-year-old to part ways with the Eagles this offseason.
