8 Best Trade Destinations for Steve Nash

Joel C. CordesJun 7, 2018

It’s time for Steve Nash to move on, and Bleacher Report’s resident NBA GM, Joel C. Cordes, has the best possible destinations.

Over the past eight years, Nash has been a good soldier for the Phoenix Suns. However, that team has been in clear decline for nearly four seasons. With his career in its last stage, the 37-year-old deserves a chance to chase that elusive NBA title.

Were Nash to be bought out, he could sign with whomever he wants. The easy choices are teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks who are desperate for point guard help.

The Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat have also been hot options over the past season or two, and they still are attractive if Nash wants to chase the ring alongside a universe of star power.

Either way, he has to convince the Suns to buy him out while also being willing to take anything from mid-level exception money to the veteran minimum. It’s a big pay cut and a lot of “ifs.”

On the other hand, teams like the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies all offer intriguing possibilities for both Nash and the Phoenix Suns as actual trade partners.

Finally, this mega trade is enough to make fans drool from four different franchises. Nash would be pretty happy too.
