Super Bowl Parties: Drinking Games That Will Make Your Party a Massive Hit

Richard LangfordFeb 5, 2012

A good Super Bowl party needs a good drinking game. It is the one ingredient that ensures a critical success, or a massive failure—but let's not get into ugly ramifications on this glorious day—of your party.

Here are some suggestions to make this broadcast fun and interactive. Caution: they are not for the weak, and it probably isn't wise to partake in all of these.

Take a Swig of Beer Every Time the Last Giants-Patriots Super Bowl Is Mentioned

Rams Seahawks Football
Mississippi Football

With these two having met in the Super Bowl just four years ago, this is going to be a relevant topic throughout the game, and if the right situation arises, it will get referenced in machine-gun, rapid-fire style.

The only drawback to this is that you actually have to be able to hear what the announcers are saying.

Chug a Beer Every Time Peyton Manning Is Shown

The Manning that isn't playing in this game—and no I'm not talking about Cooper; no one cares about Cooper, has been just as relevant as the one that is playing.

Peyton's future is likely to come up in the coarse of conversation, and when it does they will show him. They will also show him celebrating or pounding on his luxury suite every time his brother makes a big or boneheaded play.

Take a Drink of Beer Every Time the Coach the Team You're Rooting for Is Shown

Coaches are shown a lot during the course of a game. When they are shown, it is typically right before or after a big play, and that is a good time to take a drink anyway.

Have a Shot for Every Touchdown

This is either going to be a celebration drink, or a tip back in anger. Either way, a shot is a good way to mark a huge play that results in six points.

Take a 4-Bubble Pull Off a Bottle of Whiskey if They Show a Kicker Warming Up

Yes, a drink of this magnitude is exceedingly excessive. However, there is only one reason they are going to show a kicker warming up, and that is because the game is on the line and the clock is winding down.

That means the fate of the championship is going to rest on the leg of a kicker! This is a helpless feeling for fans and players. In fact, some players might want to participate in this one.

It is best to be prepared for those moments.
