Super Bowl National Anthem 2012: Last-Second Advice for Prop Bets

We're mere minutes away from Kelly Clarkson's rendition of the national anthem at Super Bowl XLVI. People around the country are watching and waiting, hoping that Clarkson won't butcher the national anthem the same way Christina Aguilera butchered it last year.

Some are hoping to make a few quick bucks off of the prop bets that concern Clarkson and the national anthem. There are three big ones, and they can all be found on Bovada.

How long will it take Kelly Clarkson to sing the national anthem?

Over/Under: One minute and 34 seconds

After watching Aguilera stretch the national anthem to the two-minute mark at Super Bowl XLV, taking the over is awfully tempting here.

I'd advise against it. Aguilera stretched the national anthem out because she stretched a handful of notes out a lot longer than she should have. It was an embarrassment.

Clarkson is, or at least should be, well aware that nobody's looking for a repeat of Aguilera's performance. She's going to come very close to the 1:34 mark, but she'll ultimately keep it short and sweet. Take the under here.

Will Kelly Clarkson forget or omit at least one word of the national anthem?

Once again, one assumes that Clarkson is aware of what happened last year. She's going to make sure she gets all the words right.

Yes, you do have to worry about the pressure getting to her, but let's not forget that Clarkson won the very first season of American Idol. She knows how to sing under pressure.

I'd bet against it, or avoid this bet altogether.

Will Kelly Clarkson's bare belly be showing when she sings the national anthem?

I highly doubt it. Clarkson doesn't have a bad belly, but my understanding is that showing it off is not the norm for her. She'll keep her tummy covered up.

If this was a bet for Madonna's halftime show, it would be a completely different story.
