Best Super Bowl Commercials 2012: Honda and Acura Still Holding Top Spots

Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of leaked Super Bowl commercials. Before the game even begins, we have a breakdown of the best and brightest from this year. 

Don't call it time travel. The reason for Super Bowl leaks is quite simple: it's because the companies get more bang for their buck. 

Their reward doesn't have to be out sorrow. It's nice to have ample time to sit back and watch some truly hilarious commercial vignettes. 

After a week of debate and consternation, I have Honda and Acura as the winners going into the big game. 

1. Honda:  Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I really, really want to kill Honda for such an early release of this commercial, but it just scratches me where I itch. 

It may start a little slow, but the commercial gets funnier and funnier as it progresses. This is exactly the reason that I love it getting leaked. We will no doubt get a stream-lined 30-second spot. This is highly deserving of the minute-and-a-half of viewing. 

2. Acura: Jerry Seinfeld 

I love me some Seinfeld. This might not be Fusili Jerry or a Bizarro World episode of Seinfeld, but it's close. The same hysterical delivery and comedic timing is there, making the Acura ad full of giggles. 

This is another example of a commercial that gets funnier as things go from silly to absurd. The bevy of commercials on Sunday will have to bring the funny hard to get past this one. 

3. Chevy Sonic: OK Go

Not every commercial will be hilarious, some will just be cool. This one has so much promise, and will keep me glued to the TV set at every break. 

These are the commercials that set the bar just an hour out from kickoff. If they are any measure as to the scope and quality of the commercials we will see, it is going to be a memorable Super Bowl Sunday. 

Now we just cross our fingers that the game is half as good as the Super spots.
