Kelly Clarkson Super Bowl National Anthem: Original Idol Will Show Up Madonna

The musical performance fans are dying to see is the highly anticipated halftime performance Madonna is going to undoubtedly dominate; however, Kelly Clarkson's national anthem is going to show up the icon at this year's Super Bowl.

In all honesty, Clarkson will never measure up to Madonna's status. Oddly enough, that's one of the reasons why it will be Clarkson who steals the musical show at the Super Bowl.

Here's why Madonna is going to get shown up by the original American Idol.

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera butchered the National Anthem last year. As a result, the bar has been set incredibly low for Clarkson.

Clarkson has ridiculous vocals and as long as she doesn't have a mental meltdown and forget the words, this year's performance is bound to be a success.

She's got the opportunity to restore Super Bowl anthems to glory, and it's nearly impossible for her to take a step backwards, thanks to Ms. Aguilera.

Madonna's Iconic Status

Madonna is either going to deliver one of the greatest halftime performances of all time, or it's going to be a disappointment.

Her legendary status has people expecting something incredible, a performance like they've never seen. Like the late Michael Jackson, the bar is set unfairly high for Madonna whenever she takes the stage, and with everyone expecting her to put previous halftime shows to shame, it's going to be tough for her to exceed expectations.

Andrew Luck needs to be a Hall of Fame quarterback just to meet expectations. Madonna has to put together a Prince-like performance to do the same. It's unfair, but their brilliance has made the public expect greatness.
