Volkswagen Super Bowl Commercial: 'The Barkside' Will Bring out the Nerd in All

Volkswagen has brought together a blend of worlds that many thought could never coexist, but fans of the legendary nerd series Star Wars, animal lovers and football fans will all find something they love and enjoy in their new commercial.

Volkswagen may have made a commercial that reaches every audience. Yes, they are that good.

There's no questioning the loyalty and passion that fans of each of these subjects have.

If you've ever met a diehard Star Wars fan, you'd know what I'm talking about. They can tell you all about Luke Skywalker's home planet of Tatooine, the special diet for Wookies and they can recite each and every single one of the scrolling yellow word intro's from episodes one through six.

These guys are hardcore.

Do you have any animal lovers in your life? Perhaps a cat lady or two?

If so, you'd understand the passion and love that they bring to their everyday lives with their pets. They eat with them, sleep with them and sometimes they may even bathe with them.

Finally, there's football fans.

These strange people can break down the nuances between a zone and man blocking scheme, they love or hate the 3-4 defense, watch the quarterback's throwing motion in slow motion and can tell you all about the small-time guard prospect from Montana State that has the chance to be a steal in the late sixth round.

Somehow Volkswagen—in all of their brilliance—was able to combine these three hardcore worlds into a commercial that will bring out the nerd in all of us.
