Giants vs. Patriots Predictions: New England Will Ignite New Dynasty

With a gun to your head, are you really betting against Tom Brady?

Sure, the New York Giants are more than capable of knocking off the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl; they were far greater underdogs back in 2008 anyway.  But the Pats deserve to be favorites in Sunday’s showdown not only to win another world title, but to ignite another dynasty.

As long as Brady and Bill Belichick call Boston their home, New England will remain a championship contender.  At 34 years old, the former Michigan Wolverine is getting up there, but he still has at least two to three top-notch seasons left in him.  When the Patriots hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the fourth time during the Brady era, it won’t be their last.

New England buckling the heavyweight title belt despite the fact that their defense is a joke should absolutely terrify the rest of the NFL.  Their offense isn’t taking a step back with Rob Gronkowski still growing and Wes Welker showing no sign of dropping off—don’t forget the development of rookie running backs Steven Ridley and Shane Vereen either.

Now, combine that juggernaut offense with a defense that will be literally effortless to improve.  With two first-round picks in the 2012 NFL Draft, New England is guaranteed to be an even more talented football team next season.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers age, the Indianapolis Colts rebuild and the New York Jets implode, the number of title contenders in the AFC is slowly declining.  The Baltimore Ravens are dangerous and the Houston Texans are on the rise, but who’s left that’s a legit threat?  The Denver Broncos? 

Not only will Belichick’s crew be even more powerful next season, but the opposition that they’ll be forced to mow down on their way to a championship will be less resistant.
