Super Bowl 46 Prop Bets: Super Bowl MVP and Most Challenging Prop Bets

Nicholas GossJun 7, 2018

Super Bowl XLVI has so many crazy and fun prop bets to wager on with your friends, but some are quite difficult and present a real challenge.

Instead of betting on if something will happen, such as if NBC will show Peyton Manning during the telecast, prop bets that will require you to choose who will accomplish something are a real test.

Let's look at three challenging prop bets that, if you win, will make you look great in front of all your friends at your Super Bowl party.

Super Bowl MVP

The MVP of the Super Bowl is typically a quarterback, especially over the last decade, but both teams have many talented wide receivers and tight ends who could play a large enough role to earn MVP honors.

The last time these two teams played in a Super Bowl, Eli Manning took home the MVP award for leading the New York Giants to a last-minute upset victory.

The last time the Patriots won the Super Bowl, wide receiver Deion Branch was the MVP thanks to his 11 receptions, and if New England is victorious on Sunday, another wide receiver or tight end could certainly take home the award.

Who scores first touchdown?

Wagering on who will score the first touchdown of the game in either phase of the game is difficult because there are so many players to choose from. You can either pick this before the game or wait until the coin toss is won but before the ball is kicked off.

The Patriots throw the ball more than most teams, even in the red zone, so choosing a tight end to score the first touchdown may be a safe bet for them.

How long the National Anthem lasts?

Pop star Kelly Clarkson will sing the American national anthem before the Super Bowl, and one of the most fun but challenging prop bets is wagering on how long it will take her to finish the song.

A minute-and-a-half is what I would choose, but since it's such a pressure-filled moment with so many millions of people watching you, Clarkson may speed up the singing to get it over with.

Either way, this is a fun prop bet to wager on that can be easily timed with a stopwatch.
