Super Bowl Commercials 2012: Hilarious Car Ads That We'll Remember

Patrick ClarkeJun 7, 2018

The fun never ends on Super Bowl Sunday.

Even after the cameras cut away from the action there is still plenty to be excited about as the year's much-anticipated Super Bowl commercials bring you in to their $3.5 million arms.

This unique day in television marketing has spawned talking babies, countless half-naked supermodels and more cars than a group of buddies watching the big game could even care to drive.

So which car ads will have us cracking up the most this Super Sunday? Take a look.

2012 Toyota Camry

This commercial for the 2012 Toyota Camry shows us what everything looks like when it is reinvented. Couches feature a row of women in swimsuits waiting to be sat upon, plants fight crime, curtains are made out of pizza and the rain makes you skinny.

Credit to Toyota for this ad, it's not as annoying as it could have been, and it moved quickly along, clearly understanding that we Americans tend to get bored easily. What was I saying?

This ad really has everything though. There's humor, sex appeal, oh yeah, and there's a car at the end.

2012 Acura NSX

This ad will be much funnier for Seinfeld fans and of course fans of Jerry Seinfeld, but it is still a good time either way. Jerry attempts everything in his power to talk the owner of the new ride into giving up the keys, even calling upon the "Soup Nazi."

As a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan and someone who has seen a few Seinfeld reruns in my day, this commercial is right up my alley and much more entertaining considering the quality of sports car being advertised.

2012 Kia Optima

For guys who are into fast cars, beautiful women, loud rock 'n' roll music, cage fighting and saving the day, this commercial is for you. The ad gets off to a hilarious start when the Sandman trips and delivers a mega helping of dream powder onto the man's face.

Although everything in the commercial seems to work out perfectly, who can argue with the results. We have our supermodel waving the checkered flag, a cameo appearance from the UFC's Chuck Liddell and of course Motley Crue playing the soundtrack.

The images of this ad will be ingrained in my head for days to come, even if I already forgot which car they were trying to sell me.
