Breaking Down New Air Jordan Spizike 'Bordeaux' Shoes

The question of can you put everything on a sneaker and make it desirable will be answered when the New Air Jordan Spizike Bordeux shoes drop on February 4th. 

You can say one thing about the Bordeux sneakers—they are polarizing. Some shoes don't evoke any kind of emotion, and that just can't be said about the new Spizikes. These things will turn heads, and I believe, in a good way. 

Let's take a closer look at some shoes that some will adore and will make others gag.

Wow Factor: 10 out of 10

Just like I said, this shoe will turn heads. The colorway may be seen as too much, but I see it as epic. Like a plate full of Skittles, this sneaker is a delight to the eyes. 

I don't care if you agree or not, because you can't argue that the wow factor is off the chain on these shoes. Wear them at your own risk, because you will be stopped daily and asked what the hell these things on your feet are. 

Design: 8 out of 10

I am down with the design, but it's far from a home run. Nike did well to make a shoe that will stand out among the myriad of other sneakers, but they may have bit off more than we are all willing to chew. 

Even I, who likes the colorway, have to agree that these will not be on my feet every second of every day. The eyes can only handle so much sugar. 

Overall Swag Grade: 9 out of 10

Here is where things get interesting. Consider the confidence you have to have to rock these with a straight face. Even if you get clowned, the manner you conduct yourself with these sneakers will provide utter swag. 

Look, I love these, but I have to agree that they are not the quietest shoe on the market. With that being said, they exude that special quality of becoming a cult classic. The Bordeux shoes are, more than anything, memorable. 

There is no way you forget this iteration of Spizikes. In my estimation, that's a good thing.
