Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft: 7-Round Predictions

Jason HenryJun 7, 2018

Another Friday, another Dallas Cowboys mock draft. So far I've taken Alabama's Dre Kirkpatrick, Nebraska's Alfonzo Dennard and now I have a new No. 1 for Dallas. It is a pick that Cowboys fans will be happy with, I believe, but it is sensible as well.

Dallas needs help in the defensive backfield, and they will have more than a few cornerbacks to choose from in the first round. I do not believe the Cowboys will go with an offensive lineman as they did last year, but I have been wrong before.

Here is my latest Cowboys mock draft.

1st Round: Janoris Jenkins, CB, Florida

1 of 7

Jenkins moves up and down the board from what I can tell. When we first started with mocks, or when I first started, I saw Jenkins as a second-round pick. As I continued to research him, I saw that many websites had him listed as a second- or third-round pick.

But he played well in the Senior Bowl, and now his stock is going up. Dallas may have reservations about his character, but he may be worth the so-called trouble.

2nd Round: Vinny Curry, DE, Marshall

2 of 7

I'm sticking with Curry on this pick. Dallas really needs a rusher off the edge, and Curry can provide that spark. Dallas isn't getting that type of pressure from linebacker Anthony Spencer, so I stand to believe that Curry can be that type of player.

He's not situational and will have to get better at defending the run, but getting to the quarterback is something the Cowboys need.

3rd Round: Audie Cole, ILB, North Carolina State

3 of 7

Dallas is need of an inside linebacker as the team is not expected to bring back Bradie James. Cole is just the start, but he I think it is a good one.

He is 6'4" and almost 250 pounds. He's not the fastest, but he is smart and has a pretty good football I.Q.

4th Round: LaDarius Green, TE, Louisiana Lafayette

4 of 7

I'm sticking with Green at this position, but it is because of his versatility as a tight end. The Cowboys will probably choose not to pick a tight end this high; however, they need the help and Green is more of a tight end/split end.

He is not the biggest, but will add another playmaking dimension to the team's offense.

5th Round: Brandon Brooks, Guard, Miami (OH)

5 of 7

Taking an offensive lineman this low in the draft is a little risky for Dallas. The Cowboys may be without guard Kyle Kosier and could need another center.

Brooks is a big guy as he weighs in at 353, but he's athletic and has played every single position on the line. He could add a lot of versatility to the Cowboys up front.

6th Round: Case Keenum, QB, Houston

6 of 7

My reservation about Keenum is that Dallas still needs help in the secondary and the offensive line. Keenum is a good pick here, in my opinion, but Dallas will more than likely choose to go in another direction.

If the Cowboys can't find a veteran backup quarterback, then I do not see the team picking up a rookie quarterback in the draft.

7th Round: Robert Blanton, CB, Notre Dame

7 of 7

A 6' corner who weighs 200 pounds. He has the height that can at least match up with some of the league's bigger receiver and is physical enough for bump and run.

Blanton may be a stretch here, but Dallas needs help in the secondary and he's a project worth picking.
