College Football Recruiting 2013: The Top-Ranked Prospect at Every Position
We're going to give you a sneak peak at the super early 2013 board. This is sure to change many times in the future, but it's never too early to look at next year's class.
There's already discussion in regards to the strong QB class. There's also many defensive players and just a boatload of talent across the board.
Here's the top 2013 player at each position.
DB: Antonio Conner
1 of 8Conner's so good, he's already dubbed a 5-star recruit. He's 6'1", 200 pounds and a dynamic safety. I need to watch more tape on him, but everything I've heard has been big time.
He's got offers from Alabama, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame and more. (via Scout.com).
LB: Reuben Foster
2 of 8Foster is a big and thick 'backer at 6'1", 240 pounds. He's already committed to Alabama and is a future star (via Rivals).
Foster plays with great instincts and speed. He will attack the line of scrimmage in a flash. He's going to be a big-time player throughout cycle and will make several postseason All-Star games.
DL: Robert Nkemdiche
3 of 8Nkemdiche is on the same level as Mario Edwards and Jadeveon Clowney. He's 6'4", 270 pounds and looks like college senior already.
He can play any spot of the DL from strong end to D-tackle, and even stand up as an OLB and rush. He may indeed be the top prospect in the country to open up the 2013 focus.
He's got offers from any major power you can fathom, sans Florida, and they'll be offering soon.
OL: Laremy Tunsil
4 of 8I have Tunsil tops right now in the O-trenches, but that could change when I see more players on tape. He's 6'6", 285 pounds and looks like an OT.
Tunsil reminds me a lot of D.J. Humphries; he has long arms, can extend to stay clean, has easy movement to mirror pass-rushers and great adjust and recover ability. He'll pop in the run game and get it done.
He won't be committing until NSD 2013 and has offers from Miami, Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Notre Dame and Georgia already (via Scout.com).
TE: Adam Breneman
5 of 8Breneman is this year's Kent Taylor. He's 6'5", 220 pounds and a natural pass catching TE prospect.
He shows very good ball skills, a large strike zone and is almost like a WR to an offense. Breneman is still reeling in offers from Alabama, Florida State, Notre Dame Ohio State, Michigan and Miami, among others (via Scout.com).
WR: Robert Foster
6 of 8At 6'2", 190 pounds, Foster has a trait that I love in WRs: release quickness. I really dig the fact he's explosive off the line, bursts into his route and really challenges a DB each snap.
He's got offers from the likes of Florida State, Penn State, Ohio State and Oregon, among others (via Scout.com)
RB: Derrick Henry
7 of 8Henry is a big back at 6'3", 235 pounds, and has good speed. He rushed for over 2,000 yards as a junior and has already been invited to the 2013 UA game.
He's committed to Georgia and has offers from USC, Alabama, Florida, Miami, Florida State and Notre Dame (via Scout.com)
QB: Shane Morris
8 of 8This 2013 cycle looks to be potentially stronger at QB than 2012 was.
Sugar Shane is a southpaw gunslinger who has an explosive arm. He has to shore up his accuracy some, but he has solid quickness in his drops and delivers the ball forcefully to his targets.
He's committed to Michigan (via Scout.com).
