Super Bowl Advertisements: Companies Whose Commercials We Can't Wait to See

Mike ChiariJun 7, 2018

While diehard football fans anticipate Super Bowl Sunday for the biggest game of the year, equally as many people tune in to see the commercials. Over the years Super Bowl advertising has become a multimillion-dollar enterprise, so it isn't surprising that companies continue to go bigger each and every year.

In recent years there have been a few companies or products that have risen above the rest in terms of commercial quality. They seem to produce excellent spots on a yearly basis, so they will be eagerly anticipated on Sunday.

Here are three companies whose Super Bowl ads we simply can't wait to see.

E*TRADE

There are few things in this world that are funnier than a talking baby, so it's no wonder that E*TRADE has had such successful commercials over the years. While they can admittedly be hit-or-miss at times, more often than not E*TRADE knocks it out of the park. The novelty of a little baby talking about stock trading and other grown-up issues still hasn't worn off and I don't think it ever will.

The baby's voice has changed over the years, but what hasn't changed is the quality of the commercials. E*TRADE usually produces a couple commercials per year, so the company will have multiple chances to make an impression. Even if the advertisements are lackluster compared to what they normally are, they still figure to be better than most.

Go Daddy

Go Daddy has become a mainstay on the Super Bowl ad circuit for its racy commercials that are obviously aimed at the predominantly male viewing audience. It all started in 2005 when former WWE diva Candice Michelle became the first "Go Daddy girl" and began appearing in Super Bowl commercials that were mostly sexually oriented.

The current pitchwomen are NASCAR driver Danica Patrick and fitness guru Jillian Michaels. Over the past couple years it is fair to say that the Go Daddy ads have gone more for shock value than the clever humor they were known for earlier in their existence. Even so, plenty of men can't wait to see what Danica will do next as Go Daddy has truly become a Super Bowl staple.

Doritos

Doritos has gotten into its current position as one of the most anticipated Super Bowl ads by being more innovative than any other product. Doritos began allowing regular people to submit commercials a few years back as part of a contest. It has certainly been a big hit as several classic advertisements have come out of the process.

Since marketing executives aren't coming up with the ideas, Doritos commercials have a very different feel than those of other companies. There is often a quirky sense of humor involved and they tend to be much simpler and more clever than the ads that rely on bells and whistles. Doritos may very well be the king of Super Bowl commercials currently, so it will be interesting to see if they can retain their crown on Sunday.
