College Football Recruiting Rankings 2012: No. 1 Alabama Has Bright Future

The Alabama Crimson Tide have won two of the last three BCS National Championship games and look like they are on pace to win a handful more.

National signing day has came and gone, and the Tide received numerous letters of intent from a bunch of great players.

Nick Saban put together the consensus (ESPN and Rivals.com) No. 1 recruiting class in the nation and has a ton of talent on the way in to Tuscaloosa.

Just look at some of the kids joining the team next season.

Landon Collins, 5-Star Safety

‘Bama pulled off a huge coup to steal this Louisiana star away from LSU and into their ranks.

He’s a ball hawk who loves to get in the box and attack the runner as well, bringing down ball carriers with big hits.

Collins is fast, smart and a perfect fit in the Tide’s secondary.

Eddie Williams, 5-Star Athlete

Williams has been pegged as an athlete, but he is certainly going to play WR for ‘Bama.

This kid has freakish speed, height and overall athleticism. He stands at 6’4”, 210 pounds and can go up and get the deep ball.

Williams finally gives incumbent QB A.J. McCarron a solid, big, Julio Jones-type to throw to downfield.

T.J. Yeldon, 5-Star Running Back

Rivals lists this kid at 6’2”, 205 pounds with 4.4 40-yard dash speed. That is just ridiculous, and he’s going to be a superstar in Saban’s offense.

This is a team that has seen Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson excel over the past three seasons.

Now Yeldon will be groomed as the next feature back for a team that loves to pound the rock.

These are the top three recruits that ‘Bama received, and that doesn’t even begin to factor in the high volume of 3- and 4-star commitments they have at every position on the field.

Expect this Crimson Tide team to be on top of the college football world for years to come.
