Michigan Football Recruiting: 5 Reasons Jordan Diamond Will Pick the Wolverines

Offensive tackle Jordan Diamond out of Chicago remains one of the best unsigned players in the 2012 recruiting class.

The 4-star recruit is expected to announce his decision tomorrow and has narrowed it down to Arkansas, Auburn, Wisconsin and Michigan.

This is a big decision for each one of these schools, as all of them could use a little help along the offensive line position.

While it is now known which way Diamond is leaning, here are five reasons why he will choose Michigan when he announces his decision tomorrow.

Dominant Recruiting Class

The recruiting class for Michigan is currently ranked No. 6 according to Rivals.com and Diamond has a chance to propel it into the top five if he commits.

Great players generally want to play with other great players and Diamond would fit right in at Michigan.

Knowing that he put his team over the top and gave them a top-five class could help sway Diamond toward Michigan.

Play for a National Championship

With Denard Robinson back for his senior year, this may be Michigan's best chance to play for a national championship.

Certainly Diamond would want to be a part of that.

The Wolverines have a tough test against Alabama to open up the season and if they can somehow get by that, the coast will be clear for a run to the championship.

Michigan certainly has the talent and schedule to run the table if it can get by Alabama.

The Wolverines clearly have the best chance out of Diamond's final four teams to win a national championship immediately.

Close to Home

While it is not an in-state school, Michigan is relatively close to home for Diamond, and some kids like to play close to home so their families can come watch.

Diamond could come to Ann Arbor and not be too far away from his native Chicago.

That is a huge selling point for Michigan.

Playing Alongside Big-Name Offensive Line Recruits

Not many teams have signed better offensive linemen than Michigan. 

The Wolverines currently have signed Kyle Kalis, who is ranked the No. 4 offensive tackle in the country and No. 22 prospect overall.

They also have Erik Magnuson, who ranks as the No. 10 offensive tackle and No. 78 player overall, along with the No. 32 tackle in Blake Bars.

Diamond could join this group, which would likely see one or two of them move to guard and help solidify a dominant offensive line for Michigan during the next four seasons.

Brady Hoke

Brady Hoke has proven he can win anywhere he goes, and that is the kind of coach a lot of these kids want to play for.

If Diamond chooses Michigan, he can have the peace of mind knowing that Hoke will be there for the long run and as long as he is there, the Wolverines will contend for the Big 10 title as well as national championships.
