Super Bowl 2012 Predictions: 6 Bold Predictions for Tom Brady

Matt BowenJun 7, 2018

Tom Brady leads the New England Patriots into Super Bowl XLVI against the New York Giants with one goal in mind—to solidify himself as the best ever. A victory on Super Bowl Sunday would do just that.

Brady will tie John Elway on Sunday for the most starts by a quarterback in the Super Bowl at five.

With a spectacular night in Indianapolis, he'll own all the major records for quarterbacks on the world's biggest stage.

Love him or hate him, one must respect him.

Brady has been the best the NFL has to offer over the last decade and he'll once again amaze during Super Bowl XLVI.

Honorable Mention: One Not so Bold Prediction

1 of 7

Tom Brady will surpass Kurt Warner for most career passing yards in the Super Bowl.

Warner's 1,156 passing yards is where the mark is currently set but Brady is only 156 yards behind the record.

Fans should expect to see this by the end of the first half.

This will be the second historical feat that Brady accomplishes on the night, but not the last.

No. 6: This Will Not Be Tom Brady's Last Super Bowl

2 of 7

34-year-old Tom Brady proved that he's got plenty of gas left in the tank this season.

After all, he had a career-best 5,235 passing yards.

With the emergence of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez at the tight end position, Brady has young weapons to play catch with for the next handful of years.

The New England Patriots are in good shape to be at the top of the AFC as long as Brady is behind center.

The Patriots made it to the Super Bowl this season with one of the NFL's worst defenses. They made it to the ultimate game because of the brilliance of Brady.

No. 5: Tom Brady Will Fumble, but the Patriots Will Recover

3 of 7

Early in the third quarter Tom Brady will fumble on first down at his own 42 yard line. The ball will be stripped from the hands of Brady by New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul.

Football fans everywhere will hold their breath for a moment wondering which team will come out of the pile with the possession.

At the end of the scrum, it'll be the New England Patriots that come out of the battle with a stroke of luck.

Brady will recollect himself and lead his squad to the end zone on this particular drive.

The Patriots will momentarily take the lead in the game, 28-24. It will not be the last time either team hits pay dirt.

No. 4: Tom Brady Will Find His Favorite Super Bowl Target—Deion Branch

4 of 7

It's easy to say that Deion Branch plays his best football in the Super Bowl.

Branch has 502 catches in 107 career regular season NFL games. In two Super Bowl appearances, he has 21 catches. He even has a Super Bowl MVP under his belt.

Although Branch may seem like an afterthought these days, he'll shine once again in the Super Bowl.

Tom Brady will find Branch early and often. With the possibility of stud tight end Rob Gronkowski being hindered with a high ankle sprain, Brady is going to need a playmaker.

Expect eight catches for 94 yards and a touchdown from Branch. Expect a smile on Brady's face when his old friend excels.

No. 3: Tom Brady Will Catch a Touchdown Pass from Wes Welker

5 of 7

In the second quarter of Super Bowl XLVI the New England Patriots will reach the red zone against the New York Giants.

The Patriots' end zone will be on the left side of your television screen.

On second down from the 14 yard line Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will hand the ball off to running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis as he sprints into the near-field. Brady will quietly roll-out to his left.

Green-Ellis will then hand the ball off to receiver Wes Welker in what looks like an end-around. Welker will head to the far side of the field.

Welker will draw the defense his way and then reverse fields with a lob to Brady who'll be all by himself as he trots into the end zone for a score.

Brady will then channel his inner Rob Gronkowski and spike the hell out of the ball. The play will go down as one of the most memorable plays in Super Bowl history.

No. 2: Tom Brady Will Throw 5 Touchdown Passes Earning Him MVP Honors

6 of 7

Tom Brady has thrown seven career touchdowns in the Super Bowl. He's currently four touchdowns behind Joe Montana's 11 for the most all-time in the Super Bowl.

Brady will do the unthinkable and throw for five touchdown passes against a very solid New York Giants defense. This will earn him his third Super Bowl MVP award, tying him with Montana for most all-time.

Records will break as the arm of Brady will throw down a game for the ages.

Move over Montana—Brady once imitated you as a child, now he'll become you.

7 of 7

The duel between Tom Brady and Eli Manning will leave fans thirsting for more NFL action. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until the 2012 NFL draft.

Manning will lead his New York Giants into the end zone with 1:46 left in the fourth quarter to put the Giants up 38-35.

Twitter will melt with chatter about Eli being the better Manning.

The next eight minutes of our sports obsessed lives will be some of the most intense ever.

Brady won't be fazed by what's going on, after all, he's on a mission to become the best ever. He'll simply take the ball and calmly march down the field.

With :12 seconds remaining Brady and the Patriots will meet destiny. A 23-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Hernandez will seal the deal for the Pats.

Twitter will then shut down til sometime early Monday morning.

With the astonishing performance, Brady will tie Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw with four Super Bowl wins.
