National Signing Day 2012: Breaking Down Biggest Winners from Crazy Day
National Signing Day is finally coming to a close, and we can actually take a realistic look at class rankings.
Some players have yet to make a decision, but everything is set in stone for the most part.
Here's a look at what top schools had the best day.
Florida State Seminoles
The Seminoles had already wrapped up the services of 5-star Mario Edwards, but their class was far from complete coming into National Signing Day.
I'd say they completed it.
FSU added 4-star guys such as Reggie Northrup, Colin Blake and Ronald Darby, but the real signature came from a 6'4", 307-pound behemoth.
Goldman, a 5-star defensive tackle from Washington DC is a huge (literally) pickup for the 'Noles and propelled the class all the way to No. 6.
Stanford Cardinal
The Cardinal entered the day with a lot of question marks, but what a day they had.
First, they picked up 5-star offensive linemen (plural) Kyle Murphy and Andrus Peat. Couple those guys with 4-star Joshua Garnett, who signed a week earlier, and the Cardinal have the best offensive-line class in recent memory.
Or maybe even ever.
But Stanford didn't stop there. The Cardinal finished the day by signing 5-star defensive end Aziz Shittu. They lost a lot of talent to the NFL draft, but the Cardinal are bringing in a ton of talent.
They have the No. 5 class in the nation.
USC Trojans
The Trojans may not have as many scholarships to give out, but they certainly made the most of those scholarships today.
After getting 5-star offensive tackle Zach Banner two days ago, the Trojans added Devian Shelton (4-star), Leonard Williams (4-star) and Nelson Agholor (5-star) today.
They nabbed Banner from the state of Washington, and Williams and Agholor from the state of Florida. That is some impressive out-of-state work
I'd say they're back.
