Giants vs. Patriots: Eli Manning Will Give Super Bowl MVP Performance

Gabe ZaldivarJun 1, 2018

Eli Manning is the biggest reason that the NY Giants are about to suit up for the Super Bowl and he will be the biggest reason that they will come away from Indianapolis as champions.

Sure, this isn't the matchup that we thought we would see at the start of the season, or even the one that we predicted a couple of weeks ago. The Giants have been a pleasant surprise and remind us of the upstart Packers that got hot at the right time after the 2010 regular season.

There is no shortage of superstars and x-factors that could wrestle for the Super Bowl MVP for their own. Patriots suspects revolve around Tom Brady, Wes Welker and a Rob Gronkowski that will rip off the walking boot and look to be a hero.

The Giants will win Super Bowl XLVI, though.

It's important to remember the Giants got over on the Patriots in November, and that was with injuries hitting them and a defense that had not yet come together in a cohesive manner.

This postseason has proved the Giants can add just enough measure on defense to stifle just about anyone, including Aaron Rodgers, who was a human 26-for-46 for 264 yards in a playoff defeat.

I am not about to say the Giants will stop Tom Brady, but stifle him enough to keep this game from getting out of hand. That leaves the Giants to launch their usual suspects at the MVP trophy.

There is a reason that Victor Cruz is going off at 8-to-1 for the trophy, according to Bovada.lv, and Hakeem Nicks is getting 12-to-1 odds, and that's the play of Eli Manning, who is no doubt an elite quarterback.

He has sliced and diced every last defense in this post season when the Giants needed it most. He has a flair for the dramatic and has the one trait that all MVP players have, and that is the clutch gene.

He is poised under pressure and has been here before. All signs point to baby bro Manning stealing the show with a solid game and a late drive that will prove crucial to the game.

That is all he will need to hoist one of the most treasured accolades of his still emerging career. Super Bowl Sunday will be dominated by Eli Manning.
