Auburn Football Recruiting: Tigers' Strong Class Will Lead Them Back to Top

Auburn has just secured a foundation that will lead it back to the top of the college football world. 

After winning the BCS National Championship, Auburn fell to an 8-5 record and was just 4-4 in the SEC. The Tigers problems were equally spread on offense and defense. They were ranked 70th in points scored and 79th in points allowed. 

They needed help on both offense and defense and they got it. 

Auburn's Class

Scout.com ranks Auburn as having the 13th best recruiting class in the nation. The Tigers currently have 19 players that have signed a letter of intent with them. 

Of those 19, 12 are slotted to play offense and seven on defense. Eleven of these recruits are elite—meaning Scout ranks them as 4- or 5-star prospect.

Impact of Class

Auburn made a point of getting some much needed help on the offensive line. Three of these elite prospect will be blockers. 

The Tigers also got some players that are going to help them move the ball. They got two 4-star receivers, one running back and one tight end. 

They will also get a big boost on all levels of their defense, as they signed a 4-star defensive lineman, a middle linebacker and a corner. 

This is a well-balanced and talented class. It is going to pay huge dividends for Auburn and provide it with a strong foundation for a championship-caliber team.
