Dorial Green-Beckham Announcement Video: Watch 5-Star Recruit Pick Missouri

Donald WoodFeb 1, 2012

5-Star wide receiver recruit Dorial Green-Beckham from Springfield, Missouri has decided to stay in state and chose the Mizzu Tigers.

Green-Beckham was also considering Alabama and Arkansas, but a decision to stay close to home may be the best thing for a family-oriented young man.

The decision gives the Tigers a huge weapon on the outside in the top-ranked recruit in the nation by Rivals. DGB has the size (6’6”, 220 pounds) and speed (4.43 40-yd) to become one of the top athletes in the SEC.

While this move may come as a shock to many who think Alabama should get every major recruit, staying close to home is important to many young people. For Missouri, this is the first huge recruit to follow the team in their move to the SEC.

All of the high school kids in Missouri that used to go out of state for their college will now see that the top school in the state wants to have a winning team. With the Tigers in the SEC now, more and more local players will view Missouri as a possible road to the NFL.

Overall, this is the kind of move that works perfectly for both the student-athlete and the school and will be the beginning of a new generation for the Mizzu Tigers in the SEC.

DGB will make the transition to their new conference easier than the Tigers could have ever imagined.
