Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Quiet Morning Leaves Irish Wanting More
We know Notre Dame made their biggest splash when Gunner Kiel enrolled early in South Bend along with Tee Shepard and Sheldon Day.
Brian Kelly did a solid job of addressing some of their bigger needs, but the Irish faithful need and want more.
When Ronald Darby decommitted, it became imperative that the Irish get another cornerback. There was a good chance that Brian Poole, a 4-star Florida commit, was going to flip from the Gators to the Irish. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
Irish Illustrated tweets:
Brian Kelly must now hope he can put something together at the last minute.
The Irish are still in the running for 5-star athlete Davonte Neal but he won't sign until after signing day if he chooses Notre Dame.
There haven't been any surprises yet this morning from the Irish class and there aren't many expected.
Many believe it would be an absolute shocker if Darby were to come back to Notre Dame after decommitting. Rivals' recruiting analysts said it would be "stunning."
That doesn't help the Irish a lot at a position they wanted to shore up going into next season.
ESPN had the Irish ranked at No. 9 going into today, while Rivals has them at No. 19 and Scout at No. 10.
Notre Dame has a lot to be excited about, but they also have reason to want more.
