Kwon Alexander to LSU: Tigers Land 5-Star OLB Prospect

Blue chip OLB prospect Kwon Alexander has signed a letter of intent with LSU according to ESPNU.  The star outside linebacker prospect made his choice at 11:05 a.m. ET in front of his high school, friends and family. He wore purple suspenders and sported the LSU Tigers ball cap.

Kwon is from Oxford High School in Alabama. He is 6'2" and between 210 and 215 pounds. 

Scout.com rates him as a 4-star player and the third best OLB in the nation. He is the 29th highest graded recruit on ESPNU's 150.

Alexander is very productive as a run defender and pass-rusher; his acceleration and closing speed are capable of creating game changing turnovers. Has the size and athleticism for the outside linebacker position at the major level of competition. This guy is a tough customer; tackles very well in space, showing the form and balance which should be very effective as an early special team's coverage player. 

"

There are some injury concerns with Alexander. He tore his ACL in his senior season. You would expect him to make a full recovery, but there is always a chance that he will re-injure his knee. 

The other concern with Alexander is that he is undersized. However, he has the frame to add some bulk. He certainly has the explosion to excel. If he can maintain that as he bulks up he will be an elite college player.
