Ohio State Football Recruiting: Stefon Diggs and Best Remaining Targets

Tim KeeneyJun 6, 2018

National signing day is just a few hours away, and although Ohio State already boasts one of the best classes in the country, it still has some work to do.

Here's a look at the best young prospects who are still on the fence, and a guess at where they might end up.

Stefon Diggs, Athlete

The talented athlete out of Olney, Maryland, doubles as both a wide receiver and a running back, but he figures to play more WR in college. Rivals has him as the eighth-best prospect in the country while ESPN ranks him 13th

He's kind of a good football player.

Blessed with speed, elusiveness and amazing athleticism, Diggs is a home run threat who has the chance to make a Sammy Watkins-like impact in his first year.

Auburn, Cal, Florida, Maryland and Ohio State are still on this talented kid's list, and he might not even have a decision by signing day. The Buckeyes got him on an official visit, which was huge, but they have a lot of ground to make up.

Prediction: Florida

Jordan Diamond, OT

Diamond, a 4-star recruit, isn't ranked in the top 250 by Rivals, but ESPN has him as No. 94 overall. The big man out of Chicago is very possibly the best remaining offensive tackle in the Midwest.

His final five includes Auburn, Arkansas, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio State, but it's likely the Buckeyes are near the bottom on that list. Diamond, just like Diggs, won't make his decision until after signing day (February 3).

Prediction: Auburn

Kyle Dodson, OT

Dodson, a 4-star according to Rivals, gave a verbal to Wisconsin in June, but has since opened thiings back up.

On top of Wisconsin, Dodson is considering Auburn, Ohio State, USC and Michigan State. My guess is that Dodson, who is from Cleveland, stays at home and becomes a Buckeye.

He is set to announce tomorrow at 12:15 p.m.

Prediction: Ohio State
