The 2012 NHL All-Star Game was a huge success.  I suppose it doesn't hurt to have it in Canada's capital, which only adds to the already amped up feeling of the weekend.

There were so many great moments throughout the festivities.  It was especially entertaining to have certain players mic'd up during the skills competition and game.  It might be a good idea to mic them during the fantasy draft as well next year.

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist's commentary during his first period performance in the All-Star game was hilarious.  He didn't shut up for the whole 20 minutes of play, going back and forth with the announcers JR, Pierre and Doc.

At one point, he even aided them with a statistic they didn't know about and they honestly thanked him for his contribution.

It was also nice to see a human side to Philadelphia Flyers' hit man, Scott Hartnell, who helped out with wearing a mic during the skills competition, conducted a few interviews and donated $1000 for every fall during Sunday's All-Star game.

But aside from all that, the top five overall moments of the weekend in my opinion were:

5. Team Alfredsson's coach John Tortorella's reaction to New York Rangers' Daniel Girardi scoring a goal during the first period during Sunday's game.

4. Marion Gaborik getting the first goal of the game past Ranger's teammate Henrik Lundqvist and shooting at him with his stick

3. Marion Gaborik walking towards the wrong team after being picked during the fantasy draft

2. Zdeno Chara's record breaking 108.8 mph slapshot during the skills competition

1. Patrick Kane's Superman shootout goal during the skills competition
