WrestleMania XXVIII: If Triple H Is Out, Then Kane Should Challenge Undertaker
If what we saw last night on Raw was Triple H's refusal to wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVIII, then the most logical choice is Kane.
Raw was better than the Royal Rumble in my estimation in terms of matches, intrigue and drama. Chris Jericho made his appearance and "changed life as we know it." CM Punk and Daniel Bryan put on one hell of a show in the ring. Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler tore it up while Wade Barrett watched with bated breath.
But when John Laurinaitis was "almost" relieved of his duties as general manager, the world stood still and The Undertaker made his long-awaited appearance. And the crowds in Kansas City, home to many former NWA greats, erupted with joy.

But one thing changed all that: Triple H did not accept his offer for a rematch at WrestleMania XXVIII.
Is he mad? Is he sick? Is he just crazy? Or, is he brilliant in knowing last year's hell was a war that both men took a long time to recover from. And is it possible with Triple H becoming more and more "corporate," someone else needs to step in and fill the role of opponent.
Like Kane.
Who else could it be? Seriously, name another WWE star who could get as much out of the "Dead Man" as the one who has traveled the roads with him and against him?
We all know the story line, we all know the gimmick. We know he is older and will take longer to recover. And still, we want to see him perform. There is no one better at his craft, no one leaves it all in the ring like he does. And his "streak" is still the subject of lore and conjecture.
We all love it and cannot get enough of it. When a wrestler can walk in the ring, not say a word and everyone in the free world knows what he is telling us, that is the reason why wrestling still holds us in suspended animation.
Kane is the conscience, the greed, the power and the athletic talent that consumes Undertaker and has since Kane made his first appearance in the WWE. The road traveled has not been finalized and with this chapter, which could be written in 60 days, this could be the end of the path taken by one man and then two men as they journeyed together.
Kane does not have a dance partner at WrestleMania XXVIII as we speak. John Cena has that issue with The Rock to deal with. I cannot see Wade Barrett involved because he is caught in a feud with Randy Orton. There is no one else viable.
And while Kane may be the choice by default, he is still the best option, long before Triple H walked away, long before there was a chance Undertaker may not make it back in time because of injuries.
Kane represents the past, the present and what could the last time we see these two in action together.
The main story started with both of them. That is how it should end.
