Michigan Football Recruiting: Wolverines Eagerly Await Jordan Diamond's Decision

The Michigan Wolverines are hoping that Jordan Diamond chooses them when he announces his decision this coming Friday, February 3 at Simeon High School in Chicago, according to Jared Shanker of ESPN.

Diamond is a Rivals 4-star player and is being recruited to play offensive tackle in college at 6’6”, 289 pounds.

He’s narrowed his choices down to four different schools and will keep it that way until Friday when he chooses Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan or Wisconsin.

Michigan lost out on prized offensive line prospect Josh Garnett, earlier this week when he decided to join the Stanford Cardinal. Now they are hoping yet another top recruit doesn’t spurn them for a different program.

Tom Lemming, a Chicago native and authoritative recruiting source, had high praise for Diamond and the Wolverines would love to be able to score him.

The recruiting expert said,

He anchors well and he uses his outstanding athletic ability to slide and mirror and cut off fast edge rushers. One of the most dominating LT’s in the country.

Michigan has one of the best recruiting classes in the entire nation, certainly in the top 10 according to both ESPN and Rivals. Adding a potential All-American tackle would be absolutely incredible for coach Brady Hoke’s stacked group of young recruits that is anchored by Kyle Kalis, a 5-star offensive lineman.

If the Wolverines can land Diamond, they have a great shot of securing one of the top offensive lines in the country over the next few seasons.

That will certainly help Michigan land great QBs, RBs and WRs in the future, as well as make them a perennial contender for a national championship.
