Report: Dorial Green-Beckham to Mizzou: Who's the Top Uncommitted Recruit Now?

Rob GoldbergJun 7, 2018

Even though wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham reportedly committed to Missouri today, there will still be a ton of players to watch on National Signing Day.

Green-Beckham has been known as the best player in the country throughout most of the year. He has every attribute you look for in a receiver and could be the top player at that position from the last few years.

His 6'6" frame, combined with top-end speed and rare elusiveness, will allow the receiver to make an impact as soon as next season for Missouri.

However, the rest of the 2012 class has loads of talented players who have yet to choose a school.

Two of those players have similar backgrounds but will most likely be making different decisions for their future.

Ronald Darby and Stefon Diggs are two tremendous athletes from Maryland who will be the biggest stories to follow as the recruiting season comes to a close.

Darby will play cornerback in college after playing on both sides of the football in high school. He originally committed to Notre Dame, but has since added Auburn, Florida State and Clemson to his list.

He has the agility to shut down even the best wide receivers in college, and in a few years he could be one of the top players in the nation.

Diggs, on the other hand, should make an impact almost immediately.

The athlete has played all over the field in high school and could be successful at running back, wide receiver or defensive back in college. However, most project that he will be a receiver at the next level.

The difference is that no one seems to know where Diggs will play his college ball.

Many believe that the finalists for the receiver are Florida, Auburn, USC, California and Maryland. Still, there could be more than 10 teams still in the running, so it is worth keeping an eye on for the next couple of days.

Despite the talents of these two players, the best uncommitted recruit does not play one of these glamor positions. He is a hard-nosed defensive tackle.

Eddie Goldman from Washington D.C. might end up being one of the top players in the entire 2012 class. He has great strength to take on extra blockers and has enough speed to burst into the backfield and disrupt the offense.

Goldman is apparently down to Auburn, Alabama, Florida State and Miami. Whichever team gets the big man to sign will be set on the defensive line for the next few years with the best uncommitted player available.
