Dorial Green-Beckham to Mizzou, What It Means for the Tigers and Arkansas

Randy ChambersJun 6, 2018

Update: It's important to know that high school coach and his adoptive father has denied the report that Green-Beckham has already made his decision.

Arkansas will be fine if Green-Beckham decides to stay in Missouri. Sure, they could have really used his services, but what team in college football couldn't use a 6'6" wideout who runs a 40 in the 4.4 range? Arkansas is losing three solid receivers in Joe Adams, Jarius Wright and Greg Childs, but they still have a very talented offense.

One of the top quarterbacks in the SEC in Tyler Wilson is still on the team. As well as talented pass catchers such as Cobi Hamilton and Chris Gragg. Let's also not forget that running back Knile Davis will be recovered from injury and will add another dimension to this offense that they didn't have last season.

Arkansas will be fine as a team without Green-Beckham, but they had a chance to put together one of the best offenses in the country with him.

Missouri Tigers

This is a huge, gigantic, extremely large, enormous or any other adjective you want to use to describe how big this is for the Tigers. Green-Beckham will instantly become one of the biggest players this football team has ever had. And he has the potential to make this team extremely competitive in the SEC from day one. Yes, the kid has that much upside.

Missouri already has one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country in James Franklin. Giving him a new weapon will only make him that much more difficult to defend. Do you worry about the 6'6" receiver or do you focus on Franklin and his ability to kill you with his legs?

The Tigers also have running back Henry Josey returning who did rush for over 1,000 yards last season. And they have young talented receivers in L'Damian Washington and Marcus Lucas, who are both 6'4" and 6'5".

This addition may only be one player, but it is a pickup that makes the Tigers competitive from day one and could possibly affect recruiting in a good way for years to come.
