Readers Choice Results: Who Was Voted as the Greatest Stable of All Time?

Justin EldridgeJun 2, 2018

Hello Fellow Bleachers!

I would like to thank all of you that voted on your favourite stable in my last article. It didn't get as many hits and votes as I would have liked, but I think all of you that did vote gave me the gist of what the wrestling fans thought as the greatest stables of all time.

Without further ado, the winner for the greatest stable of all time goes to...

The Four Horsemen and Evolution!

Yes, it was a tie. Each stable got seven votes apiece in my comments section. D-Generation X was the runner-up in the voting.

While it's always hard to pick a greatest of all time for anything, I think that this voting got it pretty much bang on.

Many runners-up were also mentioned by the voters and they included The NWO, Freebirds, The Hart Foundation and many others.

Many people also had the top three in the voting (Horsemen, Evolution, DX) within their top three or four choices as well.

The Four Horsemen could be considered the first true wrestling stable in the industry. The original line up consisted of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, Tully Blanchard and JJ Dillon as their manager.

The Horsemen have had many incarnations throughout the years. Other members include such greats as Barry Windham, Lex Luger, Sting, Brian Pillman and Chris Benoit.

The Four Horsemen will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, a place they rightly deserve to be. The group that is officially being inducted is the combination of Ric, Arn, Tully, and Barry with JJ Dillon included as well. In this fan's eyes, all members will be entered that night whether or not they get formally recognized for it.

Evolution was a stable that consisted of Ric Flair (pattern here?), Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista. They formed on the concept that they were the greatest wrestlers of the past (Flair), present (HHH) and future (Orton and Batista).

The biggest difference between the two stables was that in the Horsemen's heyday, they stayed together to get themselves and other wrestlers over.

Evolution was created on the idea of getting the next generation of younger guys over, namely Orton and Batista. When they were ready to branch out on their own, storylines were created to remove them from the group.

So there you have it folks. The greatest stable(s) of all time as voted by you. Thanks again for voting as this couldn't have been done without you.
